Oct 18, 2016 · I've been looking into the XTR-12 for a little while now, and while everything I've found on them looks pretty good, I've noticed a surprising lack of more in-depth reviews/articles on it. The overall finish on the receiver is not the best but it seems like the rest of the gun is of a decent make. I would like to get an XTR-12 because I like the idea of having an AR-10 platform that can shoot both 12 gauge and . They replaced the broken part free of charge, tested it, and sent it back. There also could be a compatibility issue. The UTAS XTR-12 is appealing because of LR308 parts compatibility, but the reports of issues with the bolt/extractor breaking, and generally with some of the machining/finish are concerning. 308 (with a DPMS upper receiver). I have read many bad reviews about its durability and reliability. Anyone that has owned one of these and knows anything about buffer springs immediately notices how light the buffer and spring are in this gun.
