With SCX24 you can do great things, but the defender just seems more solid. SCX24 has better parts access but trx4m has hard bodies and are more capable indoor/outdoor trucks whereas I tend to run my scx24 mostly indoors lately. Currently there is barely anything stock left on mine outside of shell and chassis rails. Solid 1/3 of it is 3d printed tho so if you are looking to mod one without a printer or might be hard.
